Have you heard about our upcoming Buffalo Bill Centennial Symposium, August 2 – 5? As a part of our year-long celebration, our own Buffalo Bill Museum is hosting this highly anticipated event, and everyone is invited!
Whether you desire to delve deeper into the colorful history of the American West, or you’re simply a Buffalo Bill enthusiast, this event offers topics to interest all. Numerous award-winning speakers are scheduled to attend and share the most recent research, insights, and perspectives about William F. Cody and many other prominent individuals who influenced the West.
Dr. Jeremy Johnston, Curator of the Buffalo Bill Museum and Western American History and Managing Editor of the Papers of William F. Cody, notes, “The Buffalo Bill Centennial Symposium brings together emerging scholars along with renowned western historians, offering participants a greater understanding and appreciation of the life and legacy of William F. Cody and how he shaped the modern American West.”
Linda Clark, Assistant Managing Editor of the Papers of William F. Cody, adds, “After ten years of gathering papers connected to William F. Cody, his Wild West, and his many diverse undertakings, it is deeply gratifying to me to have the world’s authorities on Buffalo Bill come together to share scholarship and inspire all of us to continue to explore, reveal, and deliberate Cody’s life and legacy.”
Each day of the Centennial Symposium begins at 8 a.m. in the Center’s Coe Auditorium. For individuals wishing to attend all three days, cost is $180 for members and $200 for non-members. The deadline to register is July 28. Those who prefer may register for an individual day rather than the full symposium.
