An early November cold snap complete with snow and icy streets have many Cody residents longing for a return to autumn. On Friday, November 17, the Buffalo Bill Center of the West offers a way to do just that with a “FallFest” Family Fun Day from 3 – 7 p.m.
“Please come and enjoy the harvest season with food and fun,” says Interpretive Specialist Emily Buckles, who also coordinates the annual series of Family Fun Days at the Center. “Autumn activities can be found throughout our museum galleries during the event,” she adds.
All Family Fun Days include hands-on activities and a take-home craft. Fallfest participants can assist in the completion of an autumn mural begun by artist Sarah Shearer, practice carding and spinning wool, and even learn about Native American heirloom variety plants.
A mountain man activity rounds out the educational offerings at this Family Fun Day, and a complimentary dinner—available to the first 200 people who wish to eat during FallFest—is served in the Center’s Dining Pavilion from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Family Fun Days, sponsored in part through a generous grant from the R. Harold Burton Foundation, are free for Center of the West member families, and just $10 for non-member families.
