Whether temperatures begin to warm, or the cold seems to linger, by the middle of March most of us are looking forward to spring and summer. The Buffalo Bill Center of the West marks the change of season with a SpringFest Family Fun Day on Friday, March 16 from 3–7 p.m.
“At this family-oriented event, we’ll explore what animals do when the seasons change,” says Emily Buckles, Interpretive Specialist at the Center. “For example, participants will learn about birds that migrate here this time of year.”
Buckles adds, “Other crafts and hands-on projects involve native plants, and we’ll study the innerworkings of seeds and gardens.” Activities also help families explore the Center’s various museums and see them through a fresh lens.
Family Fun Days offer the perfect family outing, with entertaining and educational activities, and hands-on projects to enjoy together. The Center also serves a complimentary dinner from 5 – 6:30 p.m. for the first 200 Family Fun Day participants.
With support from a grant from the R. Harold Burton Foundation, Family Fun Days are free for Center of the West member families, and just $10 for non-member families. For more information, contact Buckles at [email protected] or 307-578-4110, and stay up-to-date on family activities through the Center’s Kids Programs Facebook page.
