Dr. Kristin Barker, research coordinator for the Beyond Yellowstone Program, shares insights from her fieldwork on the large mammals that live in and move through our region. Her research primarily focuses on migration ecology, predator-prey dynamics, and anthropogenic influences on animal behavior.
Kristin Barker is the research coordinator for the Beyond Yellowstone Program, a collaborative group supporting local conservation efforts with the best available science. She has a PhD in Ecosystem Sciences from UC Berkeley, a master’s in Wildlife Biology from the University of Montana, and an Associate Wildlife Biologist certification from The Wildlife Society.
Kirsten has spent most of the last two decades living and working in the Rocky Mountains, hiking, camping, biking, skiing, paddling, hunting, and, of course, doing lots of fieldwork.
