The Buffalo Bill Center of the West, one of the premier institutions worldwide devoted to the history, cultures, and environment of the American West, is seeking a creative and dynamic Exhibition Production Manager to support the work of its museums – Draper Natural History Museum, Buffalo Bill Museum, Plains Indian Museum, Whitney Western Art Museum, and Cody Firearms Museum – and McCracken Research Library. Working closely with Curatorial and Museum Services staff, the Exhibition Production Manager is responsible for the planning, production, and maintenance of museum exhibits and assists with the care, storage, and stewardship of museum collections.
As a member of the Museum Services team, the Exhibition Production Manager provides critical creative and technical direction for temporary and permanent exhibits. This is an exciting opportunity to live in the Rocky Mountain West, just east of Yellowstone National Park, and work at a Smithsonian-affiliated institution. Each day will present new challenges and opportunities as you collaborate with talented colleagues to produce original exhibitions and enhance permanent exhibits.
Competitive candidates will possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, a desire to work collaboratively, and an ability to juggle widely varied responsibilities. Additionally, they will have experience working within museums, a successful track record of managing teams and projects, and hold an advanced degree(s) in museum studies, exhibition design, industrial arts, or a related field.

The Center of the West is looking for a Development Associate to focus on Gift Accounting to join the Development team. The successful candidate will record donations to the Center, entering gift data accurately into The Raiser’s Edge database in accordance with current policy, provide timely acknowledgement to donors, and prepare reports for staff and board. Additional duties include assisting with other Development Office projects and events as needed.

Temporary, Full-Time – approximately 12 month assignment
The Center of the West seeks detail-oriented and highly organized individuals to assist with the safe handling, movement, and storage of object collections as part of the Center’s Collections Storage Project. This temporary, full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on with museum artifacts, ensuring their long-term preservation and accessibility.
This role may be filled as either a direct-hire employee or a contractor, based on the needs of the project and the selected candidate’s experience.
This position requires a strong understanding of museum collections care, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have experience handling fragile and historically significant objects, as well as familiarity with museum databases and best practices in collections management.
