Before or after visiting the museums of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, extend your western experience!

Join Buffalo Bill Horse Rides for a family trail ride through the sage brush along the Shoshone River near the Center. If you have little ones, arrange a pony ride for kids age four and under. Or take the family on a wagon ride in Cody.

The details:

  • Trail Rides (1 hour long): $40 per rider (ages 5 and older)
  • Pony Rides: $20 per rider (ages 4 and younger)
  • Details on wagon rides coming soon!

Relaxing with Raptors @ Buffalo Bill Center of the West

Enjoy one of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West’s most popular and dynamic programs: the Draper Museum Raptor Experience.

At 3 p.m. each day the Center is open to the public, staff and volunteers bring out a few of the Raptor Experience’s live birds in the Center’s beautiful sculpture gardens (or in the Hub—the Center’s main lobby—in case of inclement weather). They talk about the raptors and the program, and answer questions from the audience.

Our raptors:

  • Amelia, the short-eared owl
  • Salem, the American kestrel
  • Kateri, the golden eagle
  • Teasdale, the great horned owl
  • Isham, the red-tailed hawk
  • Hayabusa, the peregrine falcon
  • Suli, the turkey vulture

Chuck Wagon Cooking Demonstrations

Monday – Saturday, June 1 – August 31
9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Stop by the chuck wagon featured in our front garden area to watch chuck wagon cooking demonstrations, chat with “Cookie,” and learn some tips for campfire cooking. You can even try some Dutch oven biscuits, fire-roasted beans, and camp coffee.

Wildlife of the West Tour

Explore the spectacular wildlife of the American West and how these animals have influenced Plains Indian cultures and western artists.

This hour-long guided tour visits three of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West’s museums: the Draper Natural History Museum, the Plains Indian Museum, and the Whitney Western Art Museum.

Our guided tours are free with your regular admission. Donations are gratefully appreciated and help fund this program.

Enjoy authentic cowboy music and entertainment and a delicious western buffet at this evening dinner show in the Center’s new Kuyper Dining Pavilion.

Dan Miller’s Cowboy Music Revue is celebrating a 12th season as the best musical entertainment in Buffalo Bill’s Cody Country. The show features musical styles ranging from cowboy and Americana to bluegrass and gospel—with a friendly dose of humor to boot.

Dinner and show: $40 per person.

  • Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. (doors open at 5:15 p.m.)
  • Show begins at 6:30 p.m. and concludes by 7:45 p.m.
