Northern Arapaho and Chicano artist Robert Martinez, raised on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, demonstrates in our Plains Indian Museum July 24–28. In addition to demonstrating daily in the Plains Indian Museum, Robert leads a special class on July 26 (see below for details).
Robert Martinez is a strong supporter of Education and of the Arts. He devotes time to helping and mentoring emerging artists on his reservation in Wyoming and the western region. He gives back to the community by speaking about art topics, giving workshops, demonstrating his style to schools, agencies, and art groups.
Community Ledger Art Tradition Class
July 26, 4–5:30 p.m.
Buffalo Bill Center of the West Classroom
Ages 8 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Free, but Registration Required
Robert Martinez leads a multi-age drawing class on the ledger art tradition and its importance to Indigenous cultures. Be ready to share and have fun making art with friends!
