Eastern Shoshone leader Chief Washakie, stands proudly, holding a peace pipe in his right hand. With his left, he protects the peace with a shield, forever preserving the spirit in which he lived. Washakie selected Wyoming’s Wind River country for the Shoshone Reservation, where sculptor R.V. Greeves lives.
