Yellow Owl - Sioux

When this painting was first displayed at the Cincinnati Museum in the fall of 1900, Yellow Owl was described as the "Leader of the Omaha Dance; favorite Dance of the Sioux." The painting was later shown at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, NY and at the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC in 1901, after which Mrs. Hearst acquired it.
