The Apaches are Out

Penciled on verso: "J H SHARP". Sticker on verso: "The Apaches are out (Moonlight on the Desert)."

This painting has all the stylistic, compositional and technical characteristics of the 1897 painting, The Lament., #268. The Impressionist brush strokes and Post-impressionist palette suggest that this work  was created in the mid-1890s.The signature type, however, is suggestive of post-1903 works.
