Note by Patricia Brown: "Whoever framed the painting had it fit the available, and in the process covered up Mr. Sharp's signature. The framer remedied it by trying to copy it. This was discovered when the oil was removed for cleaning by Harold Ruth, the owner of Gallery 85 in Billings. He remounted it showing the two signatures and I bought a new frame. I never had the fake removed as I thought it was interesting."
