Rabbit Hunters

There are at least three different versions of this scene. One using the exact title as this was displayed at the Traxel Art Galleries in Cincinnati in 1925 and another titled Rendezvous for the Rabbit Hunt was presented the year before at the same venue. Fenn, 2007, 204 illustrates a version that is slightly different than the Stark Museum's in composition but the same size which he titles Rabbit Hunt - Taos Valley.  (related image, #624a) A third similarly sized version was sold at the Coeur d'Alene Auction in 2007 and titled Rabbit Hunters - Taos Indians. Which of the versions the Stark Museum painting is, is impossible to say.
