Concha; "Concha," Pueblo of Taos, N.M.

There are three known bust portraits of Juan Concha, this and two unfinished oils, #264 and related image, #582. In 1908, according to his sales ledgers, Sharp sold what he referred to as "Head of Juan Concha" to Fred Harvey at the El Tovar Hotel at Grand Canyon for $160. It could be any one of the three known versions. Whichever it was, it probably went to Harvey for resale. Sharp's sales ledgers also list an unlocated full figure oil painting of Concha selling for $300 in 1908. (Sharp Papers)
