Suli is so homely to me that she is so cute. Being a turkey vulture, she is not as “glamorous” as some of the other raptors in the Buffalo Bill Center of the West’s Draper Museum Raptor Experience program in my opinion. However, after being part of the maiden voyage to a brand new show that will be happening this summer with our raptors and watching Suli perform beautifully and on cue, she has won me over. From her wing span, to her beautiful feather texture and color, to following her script and cues from her handlers, she is a top notch performer.
This year’s Draper Museum Raptor Experience will prove to be wonderful at the Center. Suli will “strut her stuff” for you in a scripted program that goes in depth about the facts of turkey vultures. There will be discussion on why vultures circle for hours at a time. There will be facts on how and why they eat the types of foods they do. She will even move around while not on a handler’s arm for you during the show. Suli the turkey vulture will win you over with her unique look, rich colors, great personality, and of course her step climbing! Check out Suli in action.
