Temporary, Full-Time – approximately 12 month assignment
The Center of the West seeks detail-oriented and highly organized individuals to assist with the safe handling, movement, and storage of object collections as part of the Center’s Collections Storage Project. This temporary, full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on with museum artifacts, ensuring their long-term preservation and accessibility.
This role may be filled as either a direct-hire employee or a contractor, based on the needs of the project and the selected candidate’s experience. This position requires a strong understanding of museum collections care, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have experience handling fragile and historically significant objects, as well as familiarity with museum databases and best practices in collections management.

The Center is seeking a full-time, exempt Leadership Gifts Officer to join its Development team. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, this position is responsible for cultivating and managing a portfolio of donors capable of making leadership-level gifts of $10,000 or more. The Leadership Gifts Officer will play a key role in advancing the Center’s mission by building and sustaining strong donor relationships, securing major contributions, and supporting strategic fundraising priorities. This work involves developing personalized engagement strategies, conducting in-person solicitations, and traveling regularly to meet with donors. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in fundraising or relationship management, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with CRM systems such as Raiser’s Edge.

The Museum Services department is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Exhibition Production Assistant to begin in Spring 2025. Reporting to the Exhibition Production Manager, this position plays a vital role in supporting the planning, production, and maintenance of museum exhibitions. The Exhibition Production Assistant works closely with the Exhibition Production Manager to help realize exhibition designs, prepare galleries, and ensure that installations are executed with care and precision.
In addition to exhibition production tasks, the Exhibition Production Assistant contributes to the stewardship of the museum’s collections by assisting with the care, storage, movement, and exhibition of artworks and artifacts. This includes handling objects according to best practices, supporting the safe transportation of items within the museum, and maintaining orderly and secure storage environments.
The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented and reliable team member who brings a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to work. This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the presentation and preservation of exhibitions while working as part of a collaborative and dedicated museum services team.

The Buffalo Bill Center of the West is seeking a Special Events Coordinator to plan and implement donor engagement and stewardship events under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy. This full-time position plays a key role in enhancing relationships with members, donors, and prospects through meaningful, well-executed experiences.
The Special Events Coordinator serves as the staff lead for Rendezvous Royale and manages the Center’s signature gala, the Patrons Ball, coordinating closely with staff, volunteers, contractors, and partners. This role involves identifying and soliciting event sponsorships, supporting offsite donor events with Trustees and Advisors, and handling all aspects of event planning and logistics—including budgeting, guest lists, invitations, volunteer management, registration, and post-event follow-up. The Coordinator will work closely with Development and other departments to ensure efficient and high-quality execution of events. Proficiency with donor databases such as Raiser’s Edge is preferred, along with the ability to create and implement planning tools such as templates, timelines, and briefings. Occasional evening and weekend work and travel are required.
