Holiday Open House—with birds!
I want to take just a few minutes to brag about our Holiday Open House here at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. On December 3, the Center opened its doors for a free holiday celebration. This is an annual event that typically draws 3,000 to 4,000 people. Local singers, dancers, choirs, and bands entertain the guests throughout the day, and this year, the birds of the Draper Museum Raptor Experience made their huge debut!—
All four birds were out for guests to see up close and twelve of the volunteers helped out. It was a great day! The public LOVED the birds and the volunteers seemed to have a fantastic time too. The birds were visited by an estimated 3,000 people in a four-hour period! Talk about being thrown into the spotlight! They handled it like true professionals, though.
Thanks to everyone who participated and stopped by!
