This sculpture represents the pride and perseverance of the legendary chief, Crazy Horse, and his followers. Sculptor R.V. Greeves portrays the chief “moving forward, for he never retreated. [With] his lance…touching the earth and his heart, for he lived for both.”
The artist’s interest in American Indian subjects has developed over forty years living on the Wind River Reservation in central Wyoming.
