West Words: Artists in Conversation

“West Words” is a series of short audio features that highlight the creativity, vision, and enduring impact of artists represented in the Whitney Western Art Museum.

Hosted by curators Susan Barnett and Ashlea Espinal with Olivia Weitz of Wyoming Public Media, the series uncovers the stories behind the art and the artists themselves. Listeners hear how personal histories, creative choices, and Western traditions come together on canvas and in sculpture. Each episode reveals why these voices remain vital today—and how their work continues to shape and expand the story of the American West.
