June 5–13, 2025 | Buffalo Bill Center of the West
Daily, 9 am – 5 pm
The Buffalo Bill Center of the West and the Whitney Western Art Museum welcome Montana-based artist Jane Waggoner Deschner as a summer artist-in-residence. Known for her evocative work with found photographs and hand-stitched details, Deschner explores themes of memory, identity, and shared humanity. “I explore ways to interact with and offer interpretations of these everyday expressions of people’s lives,” she says. “Hand-stitching allows me to interact intimately with the photos. Ultimately, I want to remind us of our social connection—that we are more alike than different.” During her residency, she’ll create new pieces on-site, offering visitors a chance to witness her unique process and the quiet stories woven into each image.
