San Francisco’s Farmer’s Market

Coming from Cody, Wyoming and seeing these sights was a fabulous treat. Of course I bought some of this luscious fruit! Best Kumquats I have ever had in my life! I now believe that one Kumquat could be worth 25 cents!! Glashoff Farms from Suisun Valley Berries are little gems. Jodie Utter, my dear friend and Paper Conservator at the Amon Carter Museum and I were grazing at the Terminal Market at least once a day while we were attending the annual AIC conference in San Francisco.

The AIC conference was held at the Hyatt Regency right across the street from the Ferry Terminal. The food court in the Terminal building is not your ordinary mall food court. There are world famous chocolatiers, honey farmers, and even a Cowgirl Creamery. If you haven’t had the cheese grits at Cowgirl Creamery, I would recommend getting to San Francisco ASAP and having breakfast at the Cowgirl Creamery!! You can buy a pastry or biscuit in the terminal and a coffee from Blue Bottle Coffee and wander outside to watch the seagulls and commuters rushing to their jobs in the financial district. It is so calming to realize that you can sit calmly as a human boulder in the stream of humanity off to their offices.
