Chief Flat Iron

This portrait may have been exhibited at The Closson Galleries, Cincinnati in  1908, as Chief Flat Iron - Sioux, and  in The John Herron Art Institute, Indianapolis, that same year as well as at the St. Louis Museum of Fine Arts  and then The Fine Arts Institute of Kansas City in 1909.  It may have concluded its travels in 1912 at the University Club in Cincinnati and four years later again at the Hotel Gibson before being acquired by Victor Evans.
