This is probably the painting, titled Chief Mountain, exhibited in 1903 at the St. Botolph Club in Boston.

 

This man was photographed and interviewed by Walter McClintock in 1906.  He was referred to as "Mountain Chief" by the photographer. (Grafe, 2009, 137; see related image, #357a)
