This painting had a long exhibition history after it was painted in 1906.  It was included in shows in New York in 1906, listed as Kills a Piegan - Crow, then in Cincinnati, Indianapolis and St. Louis in 1908, in Kansas City in 1909 and in Cincinnati again in 1912.  It was not sold until about 1945 when it went to Thomas Gilcrease.
