The Crow chief Old Dog sat for Sharp at least three times. The earliest is probably around 1900 (related image, #129). Then came this version and finally one dated 1907 followed. (related image, #445).This painting was donated by Sharp to the Cincinnati Art Museum in 1904, so must date prior to that.
