Celebrate the women shaping the modern West at this special Buffalo Gals Luncheon featuring acclaimed Wyoming artist, author, and photographer Lindsay Linton Buk. Known for creating “art with an impact,” Buk’s work is rooted in storytelling, active listening, and bridging differences across communities.
A fifth-generation Wyoming native, Buk is the author of Women Shaping the West: Stories from Wyoming, launching in conjunction with this event. Her career spans portrait photography in New York City, where she was mentored by renowned photographers Rodney Smith and Peter Hurley, as well as work as an educator for Canon’s “Photography in the Parks” program. She holds a B.A. in History from Middlebury College and an AAS in Photographic Communications from Northwest College.
Her acclaimed multimedia exhibit, Women in Wyoming: Shaping the West, has been presented at institutions including the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, the University of Wyoming Art Museum, and the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, earning national attention with features in outlets such as Forbes, Cowboys & Indians, PRX, and Travel Channel.
At the luncheon, Buk will be joined by a panel of women featured in the book, sharing their ventures, experiences, and the ways they are actively shaping the West today.
