Taos Indian Girl

Scenes of Crucita, Sharp's favorite Taos female model, seated at the doorway of his Taos studio in a Hopi dress are not uncommon.  This particular example though, where she is silhouetted against the artist's brilliant green yard and gardens, is especially airy and refreshing.

Sharp painted Crucita in similar sunny poses such as Crucita of 1917. (related image, #597)  He also loved to picture her in the deep, shadowy recesses of his studio as in Crucita, Taos Indian Girl. (related image, # 620)
