Sharp's sales ledgers for 1927 record February purchases of several paintings by Dr. Philip Cole of Brooklyn, NY. By June the number had risen to another 27, for a total of over $4,000. (Sharp Papers) That followed a sale of an important painting, The Chief's Sweat Teepee (#426) to Cole through the Milch Gallery in New York the previous year. This letter is an expression of gratitude for those purchases.
