Ex-Governor of Taos

This portrait is thought to have been exhibited in the Cincinnati Museum in 1900 and in both the Pan-American Exposition and the Cosmos Club in 1901 and was probably painted a few years earlier.

 

This is thought to be Lorenzo Martinez (Standing Bear) who appears in both The Plaza of 1894 (#335a) and The Agency Store of 1922. (related image, #501)
