Sharp painted this Crow man several times during the early years of his residence at Crow Agency. In this 1906 version, Birds all Over the Ground wears the same overcoat and turquois jewelry as in a 1904 portrait in the Gilcrease Museum collection (related image, #428). One of the two versions was shown in New York in 1906 at the Fishel, Adler & Schwartz Galleries. This version of the portrait was illustrated in the New York Herald, September 23, 1906.
