Strong Left Hand

This portrait, when first exhibited at the Cincinnati Museum in 1900, carried the subtitle of "Noted warrior and hunter,- killed two buffalo with one arrow." The painting later was shown at the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC. A second, possibly slightly later portrait of this man is in the Gilcrease Museum collection. (related image, #442)
