Powder Bull - Blackfoot

This painting, with its deeply rich palette and oleaginous highlights, is a good example of Sharp's early portraiture and resulted from his first full season of painting among the Blackfeet people of northern Montana. It was exhibited in a group show in Boston at the St. Botolph Club in January, 1903. Within a few years, Sharp had donated it to the Cincinnati Art Museum.
