It is probable that Sharp painted at least a couple of portraits of this Navajo man. This one was sold to Butler in March 1906 (sales ledgers, Sharp Papers) This, or another version, was exhibited in Sharp's large exhibition in New York at the Fishel, Adler & Schwartz Galleries in December 1906 under the title of Tall Singer - Navajo Medicine Man.
