Exhibition catalogues for Sharp are not available for the years 1902 through 1904. This work may be later than that, however, matching a title in a show at the Closson Galleries in Cincinnati, Pictures of the West, that included two Glacier area landscapes with teepees, Summer Camp in the Woods, Blackfoot Country (# 526) and what may be this work, Spring Evening in Blackfoot Country.
A smaller, associated sketch taken later in the day and from a slightly different vantage point can be seen in related image, #725.
