Hatch year: 2017
Came to us from: Roberts, Montana
Monte, an eastern screech-owl, was found on the side of the road in 2017 outside Roberts, Montana, with the tip of her right wing missing. She was most likely hit by a car, and the disability means she will never fly again.
Monte was just learning to fly at the time of her injury, and was only a few months old. She will live at the Draper Museum Raptor Experience for the rest of her life since she can no longer survive in the wild.
