On a note in the museum's records (probably made by Sharp) is written: "The chief at present recognized by the government. White-Calf, the last of the Piegan head chiefs, was a famous warrior as a young man. In his later life he was renowned as a peace-maker. He died in 1904 while on a trip to Washington, D. C."
