Two 16 x 20 inch studies from nature among the aspen trees in 1935 were exhibited at the Kreimer & Brother Co galleries in Cincinnati that year. One was titled Aspens – Hondo Canyon (possibly this work) and another Gold and Silver (related image, #319). A third aspen painting, not in that show but closely related to a larger oil that was, Morning in Aspen Forest, #24, was Aspens – Twining also from the Stark Museum, #630.
