A painting of this title was shown in the exhibition Indian and Western Paintings in January 1916 at Cincinnati’s Hotel Gibson. It was sold to Walter J. Wichgar in 1918 according to Sharp’s sales ledgers. (Sharp Papers)

 

However, this work is stylistically related to Old Tribal Chant of 1908 (#508) and Fenn, 2007, pg. 334 lists a painting of this title, Making Medicine, dating from 1908.
