New Audioguide Art Tour!

Check out our newest addition to the Whitney Western Art Museum! Developed by the Whitney staff to enhance our visitor experience, we are excited to share with everyone our new, free Audioguide Art Tour.

With roughly 40 minutes of interpretation from our Margaret and Dick Scarlett Curator of Western American Art Mindy Besaw and Senior Scholar Peter Hassrick, the Audioguide offers an insightful look at 25 works in the gallery.

The selected 25 audio stops offer an opportunity to learn about the range of works in the Whitney’s collection. The self-directed Audioguide allows our visitors to personalize their experience at the Whitney while not missing all the other extraordinary works in the museum. On top of that, some Audioguide stops contain detailed visual descriptions of the art to improve our visually impaired visitors’ experiences as well.

The audio stops include works by Remington, Russell, N.C. Wyeth, Fritz Scholder, and many other artists in our gallery. The Audioguide’s supplementary videos and authentic audio clips (for all the Harry Jackson enthusiasts!) provide both a fun and in-depth examination of the art that should not be missed. Pick up the Whitney’s free Audioguide Art Tour at the Guided Tour Desk during your visit and find out how the Whitney’s art captures the Spirit of the West.
