Antonio Gomez

Penciled on cardboard backing: Antonio Gomez (Standing Buffalo) The first Indian to introduce "peyote" in Taos. They claim its use is a religious ceremonial, giving visions and guidance from the unknown. His son is now head of that klan. Antonio was a prominent Indian of Taos.

This is possibly a brother of Geronimo Gomez (Soaring Eagle) and thus the uncle of John Gomez (Hunting Son), Sharp's most consistent model.
