This painting was offered for sale at the Gibson House in Cincinnati in Indian and Western Paintings, 1915. Sharp displayed this work in Santa Fe at the opening of the new art museum of the Museum of New Mexico in 1917 (part of a TSA exhibition). Then again it was presented in Cincinnati at The Traxel Art Galleries in Indian and Western Paintings in 1928.

 

An oil study for the boy on the composition's right exists in the Stark Museum of Art, related image #662.
